The City of Wendover is accepting applications for testing for a full-time Wendover City Police Officer.
Applicant must be 21 years of age, graduated from high school. Applicant must have a current driver license, no felonies, and drug free. Preference to individuals with UT Category 1 Peace Officers Certification.
Applicant must have considerable knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. Have skill in the use of firearms, and in operating a variety of police equipment. Must be able to perform all essential functions of a police officer. Considered applicants must be a resident of the City of Wendover upon hiring. Compensation for this position will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Develops and implements department goals, policies, and serves as the executive leader of a fire department, responsible for strategic planning, operational command, administrative management, including budgeting, staffing, and equipment procurement. Be able to direct fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), prevention, and disaster management, ensuring compliance with safety standards, completed FIRE FIGHTER 1 AND 2 training and reporting to city officials. CDL drivers
license required.

You must be a team player. Firefighters work in teams, not alone. You must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate well with others (fellow firefighters and the public). You must be able to keep information private. Details of certain types of emergencies are prohibited by law from sharing. You must be able to handle physical work, lifting heavy loads, working with tools and equipment, walk or hike distances, climb ladders. You must be able to handle seeing and experiencing traumatic, violent and emotional situations
